This beautiful space is located in the Arts District of Downtown Richmond, VA, built in the 1920s and renovated in 2010. The venue features 2,016 sq. ft of exposed brick and hardwood floors with industrial-style iron elements, and can accommodate up to 50 guests seated or 75 cocktail style. Packages start at $649 and include tables, chairs, linens, and access to vendor prep areas. The venue also offers floral design and decor elements for an additional cost and has fully accessible bathrooms and a beautiful lounge area.

Idyllic natural beauty nestled amongst 64 acres and located between Richmond and Charlottesville featuring romantic outdoor settings and an antique Glass Greenhouse with attached pavilion and lake. Accommodates 150 – 175 guests with an accessible bathroom near the greenhouse. Nature lovers will love the “Wedding Tree” and the 12ft antique wooden church pews, but they have 2 other outdoor venue sites in a Field or beside the Lake to suit your nature and additional 6ft antique pews as needed. Rentals at Virginia House A Historic Mansion (16th century English manor relocated to Richmond in 1925) overlooking the James River featuring elegant and ornate architecture and original antique furnishings. The architecture and gardens are EPIC. You just have to see for yourself! (~100-250 guests). Owned and Operated by Virginia Historical Society.
Maymont features 100+ acres of historic and elegant architecture and gardens, and offers multiple indoor and outdoor venue locations for both ceremony and reception. The Historic Estate offerings include the Italian Garden, Blue Atlas Cedar, and Maple Row with reception in (~ 150 – 250 guests varies by location). Maymont’s extensive grounds also include smaller venue offerings at 1000 Westover, Picnic Hill, and Reinhart courtyard: “Enjoy Mediterranean architecture, a mix of modern and historical features, and a private outdoor courtyard” (~ 80 – 100 guests varies by location). Maymont also offers micro wedding reservations up to 30 days in advance for an incredibly beautiful collection of offerings that accommodate any wedding. One of the best new wedding Venues in Richmond featuring a contemporary greenhouse with string lit patios, a “one of a kind” bridge and a renovated historic guest cottage (luxury cottage) and bridal suite. The spacious modern luxury Greenhouse is designed with a “one of a kind” chandelier and a built in rain plan. The beautiful glass walls flood the event space with ample natural light and provide an enchanting fusion of indoors and outdoors. The all-season venue can accommodate ~200-300 guests and packages include rentals for tables/chairs up to 200 and a built in sound system.

Mankin Mansion ( 7 miles )
A gorgeous and luxurious venue with unique historic grandeur and charm with recognition as one of Virginia’s Best wedding venues. The sprawling Georgian Revival mansion was built in 1924 and features one-of-a-kind brickwork. This National Landmark and its early 20th century brickmaking history supplied Richmond and Colonial Williamsburg with bricks from the early 1900’s until the 1950’s. The enchanting and romantic grounds / gardens provide a fairytale luxury setting with too many fantastic features to list but elegance is ensured regardless of the weather with multiple ceremony location options. Accommodates up to 200 guests who will get lost in the experience.
A unique and sophisticated collection of community oriented social spaces made from restored historical buildings in Charlottesville and Richmond, VA Chattanooga, TN, and New Orleans, LA. The Common House has a life of it’s own within each community and in Richmond it offers 4 floors of possibility with a rooftop bar and indoor and outdoor wedding options which can accommodate up to 160 guests (120 seated) all inclusive. Each floor and space in this venue has a story of it’s own and is a uniquely interesting experience.
A newer venue located in Scott’s Addition and hosts the year-round farmers market with a hybrid indoor/outdoor appeal. This industrial conversion features furnished sites for the wedding party to prepare and boasts naturally lit spaces with full length windows, skylights, functional garage doors, and accessibility. Accommodates 150 seated guests or up to 300 for cocktail and rentals include tables, linens, some chairs.
If you’re looking for a non-traditional wedding venue, River City Roll, a bowling ally, offers a fun and unique experience for your big day. Exchange vows on the lanes and celebrate with a game of bowling with your friends and family. The venue can accommodate large celebrations 40+ people.
This elegant, luxurious, and Iconic hotel in downtown Richmond has been hosting wedding celebrations for >125 years with top shelf service. Features multiple ballrooms to choose from and an included wedding night suite for the wedding couple. Accommodates large to very large ~300-400 guests. The Grand Staircase, the natural light, the golden chivari chairs, the marble and chandeliers make this venue a magical and memorable place to host a wedding and, of course, can accessibly accommodate overnight guests with special room rates for weddings.
A grand and luxurious Ballroom venue located in the Arts District that once served as a Masonic Temple and features one of Richmond’s largest Victorian Ballrooms. The Roosevelt Ballroom boasts 30 foot high ceilings with massive arched windows, imported chandeliers, and indoor balcony. It can accommodate up to 250 guests seated (500 standing) and The Adams room can accommodate 140 guest for ceremony. “Package Deals” include a bridal suite for getting ready, an on-site wedding planner, catering (this company began as catering and grew to include a venue site so they are experts in catering), bar, servers, and tables/chairs and some extras.
A contemporary hotel venue that can meet many needs and can accommodate very large wedding with capacity 250+ and up to 500. You will have choices between 7 event rooms featuring the Blue Ridge, Shenandoah and Chesapeake Ballrooms and rental includes a venue coordinator, a wooden dance floor, table settings with linens, and catering (food and beverage minimums) The hotel is accessible and can accommodate overnight guests with special room rates for weddings.
A beautiful Historic Hotel restored from downtown Row Houses in the 1980’s featuring Greek revival architecture and a romantic garden courtyard which enjoys its own history and fame as the childhood playground of Edgar Allen Poe. Accommodates up to 125 guests but also offers Elopement packages for 15 – 25 guests. Linden Row Inn has every modern luxury you could need and is full of historic and antique charm including being on the National Register of Historic Places.
A timeless and stunning event venue and home of “The Women’s Club” which was founded in the 1890s as a place for women to engage intellectually when colleges and universities would not admit them. The stately and historic Bolling Haxall House is an elegant, sophisticated, and luxurious Virginia Historic Landmark on the National Register of Historic Places. Accessibly accommodates up to 300 guests and includes tables, golden chivari chairs. This venue was even featured on the Bachelorette as a site for a romantic date in historic Richmond, Virginia is truly for Lovers!
I’m not entirely certain this venue still hosts weddings since I cannot find Event/Wedding information as of the end of 2024. However, I’ve photographed a wedding at a wedding at Historic Tradegar and it’s very memorable so I’ll include it for now. Historic Tredegar Iron Works serves as the flagship location of the American Civil War Museum and is located right along the James River near the Belle Isle parking lot. Features lofted ceilings, historic brickwork, and large windows and carriage doors.
A newer venue in Richmond, Copper Hall was a historic bank with Classic Revival architecture recently converted into an luxury event and reception hall. Accommodates up to 120 guests but optimized for medium-sized weddings up to 80 guests. Features marble columns, elegant chandeliers, and extra high ceilings with 12 foot windows to fill the space with natural light. Rentals include tables, golden Chivari chairs, setup/breakdown, and a commercial kitchen. Also offers All Inclusive micro weddings and elopements up to 25 guests.
Historic Tavern has been a great place to visit for nearly 300 years. In modern times you can visit and enjoy the historic grounds for the restaurant, the historic tours, or events such as “Hanover AutumnFest”. Renovations in the mid 1990’s revitalized its place within the community and more recently in 2015 a Venue (E.J. Wade Couch House) was added to the property. Accommodates up to 150 guests with indoor or outdoor options, and also Elopement packages for <30 guests. Rental includes tables, chairs, and event manager.
The Mill at Fine Creek is located ~30 minutes West of Richmond, VA, featuring the charming natural beauty along Fine Creek along with multiple historic buildings such as the enchanting ruins of a historic gristmill. They have been hosting weddings for nearly 20 years and have added newer accommodations including a brewery and guest cottages for overnight stays. The Mill at Fine Creek is an all inclusive rustic wedding venue that offers three gorgeous outdoor ceremony sites amongst the gardens: the original mill stone ruins, the rustic handcrafted pergola, or an idyllic creekside site. The gardens, venue sites, and suites are exceptionally photogenic, and their team is known for their outstanding catering and service. Their reviews rave about the planning assistance and attention to detail including a backup indoors space in case of inclement weather! Fine Creek Brewing Company is within walking distance and they offer 13 guest cottages on site, each unique and with modern design and comforts. The cottages are rented based on availability so larger overnight groups should make reservations early! The venue can accommodate up to 225 guests for events/weddings but also has options for <20 guest micro wedding / elopements offered midweek and off peak season. Multiple historic venues The Carpenter Theatre and it’s beautiful Spanish Baroque architecture evoke elegance and style in this historical 1920’s theatre and the Rhythm Hall and Libby S. Gottwald Playhouse (~200-300 guests varies on venue)
