Roanoke, Virginia is a hidden gem for weddings with its picturesque mountain views, charming downtown area, and a wide variety of wedding venues. Whether you’re looking for a rustic barn, a historic estate, a chic urban space, or something in between, Roanoke has plenty of options to choose from.

All below weddings are within a 50 mile radius of Roanoke VA, I’ve included the mileage from Roanoke beside each listing.

Winery and Vineyard Venues:

  • Beliveau Farm (28 miles)
    • A rustic and elegant destination winery and wedding venue located just outside of downtown Blacksburg, Virginia, and 40 minute drive from Roanoke.  The tranquil and serene 165 acres contains breathtaking mountain views and rolling hills, 13 acres of vineyard, a Winery, a Brewery, and a luxurious and relaxing Bed & Breakfast.  The venue can accommodate anything from small private Elopements up to 150+ guests and offers both indoor and outdoor spaces for your ceremony and reception.  Their Reception Hall, Outdoor Patio with Fireplace, and Covered Tiki bar area are highly revered for the wedding guest experience.  Other features that makes this venue an excellent choice are the rows of Lavender (mid-June through mid-July) and the Venue’s proud distinction of 2019 “Green Business of the Year Award” from Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce.

  • Silver Hearth Lodge (17 miles)
    • A Mountain Top oasis with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Roanoke Valley.  This Private Mountain campus is an enchanted, magical, and unapologetically unique location which is both rustic yet classic and something you just have to see to believe.  They only host weddings, and there are multiple structures, micro-sites, and venue locations to pick from for you and your guests to enjoy and explore.  The large red barn / event reception hall features all the wedding day essentials and boasts a rustic comfort including a bridal suite and a “sipping porch” with rocking chairs and a view.  The covered overlook pavilion and the tree-top terrace are both well placed for enjoying the mountain views, and an adorable micro-chapel are amongst the unforgettable aspects of Silver Hearth Lodge.  A fire circle and a vintage 19th century wrought iron wedding arbor round out this one of a kind dream day wedding venue which lets you express your creativity and your unique vision. Pricing and accommodations from micro-elopements to various wedding sizes from 50-300 guests, with tables, chairs, an event manager, dance floor lighting, and much more included. You can even bring your dogs with 2 “Kennel Club” spots for your loved ones.
  • Gracely Hill (24 miles)
    • Picturesque and panoramic views of The Blue Ridge Mountains with a rustic enclosed barn. Gracely Hill venue is budget friendly with priceless views and hosts weddings from April to October (except for mid-August through the end of September).  The Venue is a newer addition to this family farm but they are seasoned and award winning hosts with their Beaver Dam Farm Sunflower Festival (Early to Mid-September). Other benefits with the venue include a stress free experience with tables and chairs provided (setup/take down not included) and even some decor options. The reservations include time for rehearsal dinner, and the Included tables/ chairs can accommodate approximately 150-200 guests

    • A beautiful farmhouse situated on a beautiful nature preserve. Not only can you have an amazing venue of the mountains for your wedding day but you can spend the weekend enjoying beautiful nature scenery.

    • Glass Hill Venue is conveniently located between Roanoke and Lynchburg, in Bedford county, nestled amongst breathtaking mountain views of the Peaks of Otter.  It’s the perfect location for an elegant outdoor wedding and the perfect location for memorable views which your guests will rave about. From the paved walkway that makes the walk down the aisle magical, to the idyllic arbor, the outdoor space is both exceptional and accessible.  The Lodge, a large reception hall,  is warm and inviting with a striking 24’ cathedral ceiling, a grand stone fireplace, and all the modern comforts.  The experience is enhanced for the wedding party with thoughtful, spacious, and well designed bride and groom suites, and bookings include a 1 hr rehearsal.  Their service is regarded as top of the line and many details are included such as tables/chairs, outdoor patio heaters and fire pits. It can accommodate up to 200 wedding guests (ADA accessible) and additional amenities including an indoor bar, a commercial size staging kitchen and paved outdoor patios.

    • Picturesque Mountain Views just outside of Salem and Roanoke. This elegant venue can handle nearly everything from planning, catering, serving, tables, chairs and linens, setup/take down, and even lodging. Membership Not required. Ballroom suited to host 200 guests.

  • Explore Park Wedding Venues
    • Just outside of Roanoke and on the Blue Ridge Parkway at mile post 115, Explore Park features hundreds of acres of natural landscape including wide sweeping meadows with mountain views, native deciduous forest with walking trails, historic buildings, and riverside access. If you’re looking for an affordable wedding venue, it’s hard to beat the historic rustic charm of the two indoor options Mount Union Church and The Arthur Taubman Center which have modern amenities to keep your guests comfortable. Bookings are done through Roanoke County Parks and chairs/table rentals are included in the reservation of the indoor spaces. There are also several outdoor wedding and reception venue options which are available based on park activities or prior reservation. The Indoor venues boast ample parking and easy access while the outdoor venue options are walk-in only.
      • Mount Union Church (7 miles)
        • A charming and historically reconstructed 1880’s Greek Revival style church featuring a beautiful interior with pews and a raised altar, perfect for small to medium weddings and for a classy Bride walking the aisle vibe. It can accommodate up to 99 guests and offers a few modern amenities such as a restroom, a bridal dressing room and heating and air conditioning systems for your comfort. In addition, there is a doorway at the rear of the church to accommodate brides walking down the aisle.
      • Arthur Taubman Center (7 miles)
        • The Arthur Taubman Center is a replica of a historic building which once served as the Visitors Center for the Park. It is the larger of the two indoor options and it features ADA accessibility, a front porch, a large main room including a decorative fireplace, a second story with bride and groom dressing rooms, and a sunroom that leads to the large outdoor deck. The larger space makes for a great reception site if you would like to also book the Church for the wedding or you could consider an outdoor site for the ceremony.
      • Explore Park Outdoor Option
        • There are several locations for both wedding and reception such as the meadow areas in Riverside Village which feature rustic, historical buildings as scenic backdrops. Or you can combine the outdoors with the Arthur Taubman Center!
  • The Bower Center for the Arts (28 miles)
  • Peaks of Otter (30 miles)
    • Nestled against a tranquil lake with timeless mountain views.  The Lake and Lodge are one of the most accessible points on the Blue Ridge Parkway.  Perfect for anyone who loves natural settings the Lodge and immediate walking area features lakeside seating, hiking trails, and walking paths around the lake as well as one of the premier summit views in the region atop Sharp Top Mountain. This venue also features rooms and a restaurant with grand views which can turn your wedding event into an destination experience for the whole family. Accommodates 100 guests: plan an October wedding for stunning peak Fall Foliage or early June-July for Rhododendron blooms. Cell phone / wifi may be very limited, and the nearest gas station is ~20 miles away so this experience leans heavily into relaxing, unplugging, and being surrounded by nature, however easy access to Roanoke, and Bedford VA are nearby make this one of the most accessible places on the B.R.P.

Venues Out of Roanoke worth considering

  • Seneca Lake (53 miles)
    • Charming and spacious 6,000 square foot modern Barn designed with a layout for weddings in mind.  Seneca Lake Venue has everything you’d need including private Bridal and Groom suites, and an indoor/outdoor bar which leads to a large paved patio. Regardless of the weather this venue can make your wedding day memorable due to the space inside, however the sunset views are one of the unforgettable features. September weddings can enjoy Sunflower blooms, and access to Seneca lake is year-round.  Includes Tables and Chairs, caterer kitchen and tables, and patio pub tables.  Suitable for 150-175 guests and excels at accessibility with parking and golf cart attendants in addition to ADA accessible bathrooms. 
  • Irvine Estate / House Mountain Inn (64 miles) (Click here to see Real Wedding)
    • A premier and luxurious destination, on a private mountain which features two stunning venues:  House Mountain Inn, and Irvine Estate. Both sites feature mountain views and elegant gardens and are just out of sight from one another to allow for privacy and a sense of a storybook wedding. They are known for their excellent service, hospitality, detailed wedding coordinators, and their amazing 1000 acre property nestled in the mountains. They also have luxurious overnight accommodations (15 suites) which make this a premier destination for your wedding day and for your loved ones. You can try out the magic of their property yourself by visiting their Inn for Bed & Breakfast which also includes a wine/cheese hour and a 3 course dinner.
      • House Mountain Inn offers space for the whole family, and the wedding party. The ambiance and architecture are something your guests will adore including the grand ballroom with post and beam ceiling, and a covered pavilion with a large stone fireplace. It also features a gorgeous outdoor space for the ceremony including a dark flagstone aisle and pergola altar. It can accommodate ~150 guests.
      • Irvine Estate is spectacular, it’s elevated location make it the crown jewel of the property.  It features stunning panoramic views from both the grand ballroom and from the unforgettable covered terrace, which is an idyllic site for a ceremony and the dancefloor. The large ballroom has post and beam ceilings, a covered side deck, and large outdoor stone patio (with stone fireplace) all which are immediately adjacent to each other combining for a very large area for your wedding/reception, and areas for your guests to mingle. It can accommodate ~230 guests and even has it’s own LOVE sign with a mountain view backdrop.
