Roanoke, Virginia is a hidden gem for Weddings with its charming Downtown area and picturesque Mountain Views. There’s an abundance of Modern Barn Wedding Venues with an indoor / outdoor experience and sweeping Mountain views, each with their own charm and appeal. Whether you’re looking for a more Luxury Venue or in need of an Affordable Destination for the whole wedding party, Roanoke has plenty of options to choose from.

I’ve included Roanoke Wedding Venues within a 50 mile range of Downtown Roanoke, and a few beyond that distance but still worth considering. I update this list every few months and add information with attention to the amenities, accessibility, and capacity in order to help you find the perfect Wedding Venue for you and your guests!

Winery and Vineyard Venues:

• Stoney Brook Vineyards   (15 miles)
  • Rustic working Farm, Vineyard, and Winery on 28 acres within 200+ acres with Mountain Views. Venue is Indoor / Outdoor and amenities include outdoor covered patio and space heaters. ADA Accessible. Accommodates up to 120 – 150 guests.
• Beliveau Farm (28 miles)
  • Tranquil and serene 13 acres of Vineyard, and Winery & Brewery within 165 acres with breathtaking Mountain Views, just outside of downtown Blacksburg.  Venue offers both indoor and outdoor spaces for the ceremony and reception including a Reception Hall, Outdoor Patio with Fireplace, and Covered Tiki bar. Additionally you can stay overnight in their luxurious and relaxing Bed & Breakfast. Per Owner: the farm is accessible. Accommodates small private Elopements up to 150+ guests, lastly enjoy rows of Lavender Flower Blooms from mid-June through mid-July. “Green Business of the Year Award” – Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce 2019.
• Virginia Mountain Vineyards   (27 miles)
  • Spacious and Modern with Mountain views. Venue offers Tile floor “Great Hall” indoors and large Covered, Paved, and Lighted Patio with permanent reception tent and Lighted Gazeebo with indoor restrooms and dressing rooms.. Per Owner: Wheelchair accessible both for venue and rest rooms. Guest capacity for a sit down event is 150.

Farm House & Barn Venues

• Silver Hearth Lodge (17 miles)
  • Express your creativity at this Rustic Mountain Top campus for you and your guests to enjoy and explore.  The Venue is an unapologetically unique location with multiple structures, micro-sites, and basically multiple ceremony locations to pick from including a micro-chapel. Surprisingly more than enough space to host either an indoor or outdoor wedding, and overnight camping for guests and 2 dogs.  A sprawling red barn styled reception hall features a rustic bridal suite and a “sipping porch” with rocking chairs, and a nearby fire circle to enjoy the mountain top view. Includes Tables, chairs, dance floor lighting, and more. Per Owner: the venue and bathrooms are handicap accessible. Accommodates micro-elopements to Weddings with 50-300 guests.
• Diamond V Farm (17 miles)
  • Per Owner: “handicap accessible bathrooms”. Accommodates up to 200 guests.
• Gracely Hill (24 miles)
  • Picturesque and panoramic views of The Blue Ridge Mountains with a rustic enclosed barn, budget friendly. Hosts weddings from April to October (except mid-August to end of September due to hosting award winning “Beaver Dam Farm Sunflower Festival”.  Venue is a newer construction with bride and groom suites, and includes some decor options as well as tables and chairs provided (setup/take down not included). Accommodates up to 200 guests.

  • Multiple large modern indoor Venues with striking artichecture and vast Mountain Views. Appears accessible, ample parking and accommodates 200-300+ guests.
• Barn at Spring Rose Lane Farm (30 miles)
  • Red Barn, modern and affordable. Venue includes Bridal and Groom suites, attached and covered outdoor patio with multiple ceremony sites, and rental includes a wide selection of decor (something borrowed) to personalize your decorations. Accessible ADA Compliant Restroom, Ramps, Golf Cart Available. Accommodates up to 180 guests.
• Cloverlea Farm House (32 miles) (click here to see a real wedding)
  • Beautiful restored/renovated 1700’s historic farmhouse with panoramic mountain views and exceptional gardens (Claytor Nature Center’s memorial gardens) are perfect for nature lovers!  This 491 acre nature preserve managed by the Univ. of Lynchburg features multiple outdoor ceremony sites and a few outdoor reception options in the gardens. Additionally the house (6 room, 3.5 bath) can be rented for a getaway experience with your closest friends or family. Ramp access to the event lawns and to the main parlor / living area of the House’s main floor and ½ bath. Accommodates 170 guests.
• Cedar Oaks Farm (34 miles)
  • Elegant and Modern Barn with Panoramic Mountain Views and true indoor / outdoor flexibility. Venue rental includes spacious and luxurious Bride & Groom suites, large covered and paved porches, a parking attendant, a prep-warming kitchen, tables & chairs. • Sinkland Farms (39 miles)
  • Modern renovated Barn (rustic undertones) with Mountain views and featuring lush Tuscan styled gardens and waterfront pond seated on 5 acres amongst a 125-acre farm. Venue includes an elegant Honeymoon Cottage Suite for getting ready and overnight accomodations. The reception barn features a stage, interior decor, and farmhouse styled tables with chairs, a Paved Terrace with expansive Pergola. Additionally there is a backup “rain barn” incase of inclement weather. • The Seclusion ( 48 miles )
  • Sophisticated Elegance and a top of the line private mountain escape with breathtaking Mountain views of the Shenandoah Valley. The venue features one of the most elegant Barns in Virginia known as their Grand Hall, and it contains luxury in every detail. The chandeliers and interior are genuinely majestic. The Veranda opens to an unforgettable flagstone path which serves as the central aisle and anchors the idyllic outdoor ceremony site. • The 84 Events (49 miles)
  • Rustic whitewash Barn on 84 acre family farm featuring vintage 1940’s church pews, farm style reception tables, and a paved patio space. Venue booking also includes a wedding coordinator, wedding timeline, and parking attendant as well as many rental items like tables and seating and a birdal suite and groom room. No accessibility information listed. Accommodates up to 150 guests.

• Bent Oaks Manor (<1 mile)
  • A Historic Manor House restored with modern amenities/luxury, located within walking distance to Downtown Roanoke and with overnight accommodations for 13 guests. The Victorian Style Estate: The Manor House + Carriage house + Gardener cabin were built ~ 1910 and the cozy porches, paved patios, Giant White Oak Trees, and views of Mill Mountain elicit a calm and intimate feeling of privacy, perfect for hosting the entire weekend.  Accessibility includes an ADA restroom and Ramp entry to first floor, (No 2nd floor access).   Accommodates 40 indoor – 120 indoor/outdoor wedding guests
• Sundara (13 miles)
  • Historic Garden Estate with stunning Mountain Views. Venue includes multiple outdoor ceremony sites, a Tent-Covered paved reception Patio, a glamorous camping tent (with covered porch), a bridal suite and groom’s room, assorted tables and golden chivari chairs. Includes Accessible restrooms, reception space, and ceremony options in addition to golf-cart as needed. Accommodates up to 200 guests.
• Smith Mountain Manor (35 miles)
  • A Grand Manor / Estate with a luxurious interior full of natural light. Features elegant and timeless architecture at scale with white Columns and Mountain views. The Venue is available as short-term rentals of the estate, and surprisingly also hosts extremely affordable micro weddings of 8 person or less as well as Intimate sizes of 20-50. Accessible to wheelchairs: Level entry main floor and a wheelchair accessible elevator for other levels. Accommodates up to 100 guests
• Nesselrod on the New (47 miles)
  • Pavilion Covered Patio Accommodates up to 150 guests
• Mountain Lake Lodge (50 miles)
  • Accommodates up to 70 – 240 guests

Historic Roanoke Wedding Venues:

• The Corinthian Ballroom   ( <1 mile )
  • Grand Ballroom with vaulted ceilings and Corinthian styled pillars located in Downtown Roanoke. Venue rental includes Tables (set up and breakdown) as well as gold Chiavari Chairs.  The historic building and downtown location make this venue less accessible than some others due to no onsite parking and relies on a historic elevator with operator.  2 rooms each can accommodate Up to 200 guests (~150 for sit down dinner service) and combined can accommodate up to 400 guests split between the 3rd and 4th floors.
• The Charter Hall (<1 mile)
  • Historic Assembly Hall and Opera House ( modern renovation in 2011) the City Market Building in the heart of downtown Roanoke.  Charter Hall is the main ballroom located on the 3rd floor, but there are options to rent additional space. Packages include stage, dancefloor, setup/takedown tables & chairs, audio/visual equipment for DJ / band, and catering kitchen in addition to bridal and groom suites. Accommodate up to 460 guests.
• The Maridor (3 miles)
  • Historic Estate House with ballroom and a charming private garden located near Grandin Village. They specialize in all-inclusive turnkey weddings making it an excellent choice for a destination wedding for close family/friends with 6 modernized suites for overnight lodging. Accommodates 100-150 guests. 
• Hunting Hills Country Club (6 miles)
  • Mountain Views with a sense of intimacy and rustic elegance. Features an enchanting fusion of indoor and outdoor spaces including brick patios and a naturally lit Main Ballroom with high ceilings and chandeliers. Venue includes customized catering, tables and chairs,   Membership Not required. No accessibility info listed. Accommodates 150 – 300 Guests.
• Hidden Valley Country Club (7 miles)
  • Picturesque Mountain Views just outside of Salem and Roanoke. This elegant venue can handle nearly everything from planning, catering, serving, tables, chairs and linens, setup/take down, and even lodging. Membership Not required. No accessibility info listed. Ballroom suited to host 200 guests.
• Sunnybrook (7 miles)
  • Historic Home with “southern charm and a vintage ambiance” with elegant gardens, multiple outdoor sites for ceremony and a large Covered Veranda for larger weddings with Indoor/ Outdoor appeal. Venue includes bridal and groom’s suites, tables & black Chivari chairs, silverware/glassware, bridal and groom’s suites, ceremony chairs, and a Coordinator. No accessibility info listed. Accommodates 200 – 250 guests.
• Belle Garden Estate (15 miles)
  • Historic 1700’s estate with Mountain Views, beautiful gardens and excellent for a getaway destination wedding and Additionally does Intimate and micro weddings which are quite affordable. It’s Modern, Elegant, Luxurious, and surrounded by natural beauty on 10 acres. Venue features multiple ceremony sites, an outdoor covered pavilion, bridal and groom’s suites, setup/takedown tables & chairs and some assorted decor. Has 3 rooms for Overnight Lodging (up to 8 guests)  and accommodates Micro weddings (up to 35 guests) or even Intimate Elopements (up to 4 guests). Accessible Parking with access to Covered Pavilion but Manor House is Not accessible. Accommodates up to 200 guests.

Urban and Industrial Venues:

• The Penthouse (<1 mile)
  • Rooftop venue in downtown Roanoke with mountain views.
• Eastern Divide Brewing Company (40 miles)
  • Located near Blacksburg, this modern brewery has ample space with a moderate covered patio and sprawling lawn suitable for indoor/outdoor events.  The interior has a lot of charm with its inviting bar and taproom decorated with houseplants which gives a sense of urban indoor jungle.  The team at Eastern Divide Brewery is well suited to take care of Catering, Service, Bar, and Planning and they have space to accommodate partial venue rentals with a private section (~75 people) or exclusive private rental of the entire grounds, restaurant & taproom (~225 guests)

  • Historic Memorial / Library / Landmark renovated in 2007 into a premier event venue and seated atop a hill, with White Columns, and a vast rolling lawn. Venue features a Ballroom, an outdoor Terrace, plus two additional rooms for events. Rental Includes audio and video system with microphones, and connections. Full ADA accessibility with ramps and an elevator with on-site parking for up to 200 vehicles. Accommodates 200 – 300+ guests in addition to intimate sizes of 20-60 guests.
• Explore Park Wedding Venues
  • Just outside of Roanoke and on the Blue Ridge Parkway at mile post 115, Explore Park features hundreds of acres of natural landscape including wide sweeping meadows with mountain views, native deciduous forest with walking trails, historic buildings, and riverside access. If you’re looking for affordable Roanoke Wedding Venues, it’s hard to beat the historic rustic charm of the two indoor options Mount Union Church and The Arthur Taubman Center which have modern amenities to keep your guests comfortable. Bookings are done through Roanoke County Parks and chairs/table rentals are included in the reservation of the indoor spaces. There are also several outdoor wedding and reception venue options which are available based on park activities or prior reservation. The Indoor venues boast ample parking and easy access while the outdoor venue options are walk-in only. All appear to Accommodate up to 99 guests 
    • Mount Union Church (7 miles)
      • A charming and historically reconstructed 1880’s Greek Revival style church featuring a beautiful interior with pews and a raised altar, perfect for small to medium weddings and for a classy Bride walking the aisle vibe. It can accommodate up to 99 guests and offers a few modern amenities such as a restroom, a bridal dressing room and heating and air conditioning systems for your comfort. In addition, there is a doorway at the rear of the church to accommodate brides walking down the aisle.
    • Arthur Taubman Center (7 miles)
      • The Arthur Taubman Center is a replica of a historic building which once served as the Visitors Center for the Park. It is the larger of the two indoor options and it features ADA accessibility, a front porch, a large main room including a decorative fireplace, a second story with bride and groom dressing rooms, and a sunroom that leads to the large outdoor deck. The larger space makes for a great reception site if you would like to also book the Church for the wedding or you could consider an outdoor site for the ceremony.
    • Explore Park Outdoor Options
      • There are several locations for both wedding and reception such as the meadow areas in Riverside Village which feature rustic, historical buildings as scenic backdrops. Or you can combine the outdoors with the Arthur Taubman Center! Outdoor venues are walk-in only and are not accessible by vehicle.
• The Bower Center for the Arts (28 miles)
• Peaks of Otter (30 miles)
  • Nestled against a tranquil lake with timeless mountain views.  The Lake and Lodge are one of the most accessible points on the Blue Ridge Parkway.  Perfect for anyone who loves natural settings the Lodge and immediate walking area features lakeside seating, hiking trails, and walking paths around the lake as well as one of the premier summit views in the region atop Sharp Top Mountain. This venue also features rooms and a restaurant with grand views which can turn your wedding event into an destination experience for the whole family. Accommodates 100 guests: plan an October wedding for stunning peak Fall Foliage or early June-July for Rhododendron blooms. Cell phone / wifi may be very limited, and the nearest gas station is ~20 miles away so this experience leans heavily into relaxing, unplugging, and being surrounded by nature, however easy access to Roanoke, and Bedford VA are nearby make this one of the most accessible places on the B.R.P.

Venues Out of Roanoke worth considering

• Seneca Lake (53 miles)
  • Charming and spacious 6,000 square foot modern Barn designed with a layout for weddings in mind.  Seneca Lake Venue has everything you’d need including private Bridal and Groom suites, and an indoor/outdoor bar which leads to a large paved patio. Regardless of the weather this venue can make your wedding day memorable due to the space inside, however the sunset views are one of the unforgettable features. September weddings can enjoy Sunflower blooms, and access to Seneca lake is year-round.  Includes Tables and Chairs, caterer kitchen and tables, and patio pub tables.  Suitable for 150-175 guests and excels at accessibility with parking and golf cart attendants in addition to ADA accessible bathrooms. 
• Irvine Estate / House Mountain Inn (64 miles) (Click here to see Real Wedding)
  • A premier and luxurious destination, on a private mountain which features two stunning venues:  House Mountain Inn, and Irvine Estate. Both sites feature mountain views and elegant gardens and are just out of sight from one another to allow for privacy and a sense of a storybook wedding. They are known for their excellent service, hospitality, detailed wedding coordinators, and their amazing 1000 acre property nestled in the mountains. They also have luxurious overnight accommodations (15 suites) which make this a premier destination for your wedding day and for your loved ones. You can try out the magic of their property yourself by visiting their Inn for Bed & Breakfast which also includes a wine/cheese hour and a 3 course dinner.
    • House Mountain Inn offers space for the whole family, and the wedding party. The ambiance and architecture are something your guests will adore including the grand ballroom with post and beam ceiling, and a covered pavilion with a large stone fireplace. It also features a gorgeous outdoor space for the ceremony including a dark flagstone aisle and pergola altar. It can accommodate ~150 guests.
    • Irvine Estate is spectacular, it’s elevated location make it the crown jewel of the property.  It features stunning panoramic views from both the grand ballroom and from the unforgettable covered terrace, which is an idyllic site for a ceremony and the dancefloor. The large ballroom has post and beam ceilings, a covered side deck, and large outdoor stone patio (with stone fireplace) all which are immediately adjacent to each other combining for a very large area for your wedding/reception, and areas for your guests to mingle. It can accommodate ~230 guests and even has it’s own LOVE sign with a mountain view backdrop.
